There are 65 points up for grabs on Saturday night at Bear Ridge and Donnelly leads with 578, Douville is second with 564 and Dow is third with 523. A strong run or a simple twist of fate could make all the difference in the world for any of the three drivers. SCoNE handicapping system means that the three possible champs will be starting from the back of the field, promising a potential pageant of passing you won’t want to miss. Adding to the excitement, Vermont Lieutenant Governor Phil Scott, the winningest driver in the history of the Thunder Road Speedbowl and a former American Canadian Tour champion, will make his dirt track debut in the SCoNE Guest Car. It’s all part of the third annual New England Dirt Track Championships sponsored by Perry Oil Service/99ROCK. Special events will be held for the 99ROCK Weekly Racing Series Modified, Coupe, Late Model, Fast Four, and Hornet divisions, plus the USAC Dirt Midget Association and the season finale for the WYKR Sprint Cars of New England. Special general admission is $13 for adults (age 18-61), $10 for teens (12-17) and seniors (62+), and $2 for children; Visa and MasterCard are accepted. Racing begins at the famous “6:00-ish” start time. Bear Ridge Speedway is located on Kidder Road in Bradford, VT, just off Exit 16 on Interstate 91.
